[16/04/2012] KG-STV

TKG-STV is an experimental program for the transfer of images and text via radio.
It works much like Analogue SSTV in that it scans the image block by block, compresses and digitally encodes each block of 16 x 16 pixels and then transmits it. Picture size is 320 X 240 pixels for a total of 300 blocks. It takes approximately 2 minutes to transmit a picture.
Two types of modulation are used for transmission - MSK or 4LFSK which are variants of FSK modulation.
A received KG-STV transmission, is decoded and displayed, block by block until the entire 300 blocks are received. You will be able to see the picture as it is received. Missing blocks in the picture, are filled in by asking for a resend of the said missing blocks - BSR (Bad Segment Report).The transmitting station then sends a FIX - (Missing Blocks Only), which should fill in the picture.
You will need a Soundcard Interface to receive and transmit pictures using this program. SoundCard interfaces used for PSK, RTTY or SSTV will do just fine.

To the wonderful world of Slow Scan Television (SSTV). SSTV is a very fun and exciting mode to send and receive images using your computer, a keying circuit and your ham radio whether it's vhf or hf.
Over the years sstv has grown in popularly and the software/hardware used to send and receive pictures with amateur radio has come a long ways as well. MMSSTV has many features not found in other sstv programs and the best part about MMSSTV is that it is free.
When searching for something in particular and you cannot find it in the contents or index tabs. try using the search tab. you can also use Booleans (AND, OR, NEAR, NOT) in your search by either typing them in or clicking on the little arrow to the right of the window.

LOG4OM, un nuovo log di stazione che sta nascendo in questi ultimi mesi grazie alla collaborazione di molti OM, che suggeriscono nuove funzionalità e forniscono feedback su eventuali migliorie o difetti, ed alle abilità informatiche di Daniele IW3HMH, autore del programma. Il software è di semplice installazione e di altrettanto semplice utilizzo. Questa è la caratteristica che mi ha portato a presentarvi il programma: tutti sappiamo quanto la semplicità è importante nelle attivazioni in portatile, dove spesso il "keep it simple" diventa sinonimo di affidabilità e di velocità nell'inserire i QSO a log: digito il nominativo e premo Enter ed il gioco è fatto. Altra caratteristica importante che un software "easy" deve avere è la possibilità di esportare il log in formato ADIF; in questo modo i contatti potranno essere importati in altri programmi per una eventuale elaborazione post-attivazione (ad esempio la creazione di statistiche). Inoltre il file ADIF permette con estrema facilità la pubblicazione del log online (LOTW, eQSL, ClubLog, ecc.).

Questo sistema, e' stato introdotto dagli americani, ed ha preso piede in tutto il mondo; attualmente ci sono un numero variabile tra 700 e 800 accessi locali sparsi in tutto il mondo, stabilmente collegati attraverso la rete internet, mediante un accesso ISDN o ADSL, ad una serie di server, a cui possono collegarsi tutti i radioamatori tramite il proprio computer di casa. Questi accessi locali vengono linkati ad una radio, generalmente VHF o UHF, allargando dunque l'acquisizione da parte di altrettanti radioamatori.In questo modo, è stata tesa una rete stabile di collegamenti tra radioamatori di tutto il mondo, che va ad aumentare il bagaglio delle esperienze nel campo delle telecomunicazioni amatoriali, e soprattutto aumenta le possibilità di incontro e confronto tra appassionati di diverse parti del globo.
